We have watched this team grow from boys to young men with such pride over the years. After winning their Dublin Feile division they were selected by Dublin to represent them in the Féile na nÓg 2019 All Ireland Championship and went on to win the championship in an historic moment for the club, securing All Ireland winning medals! Since then they have won leagues and in 2021 reached the U16's B Championship Final against St Vincents.
Sunday's final was another joyous occasion with the team putting on a galant display of determination, discipline, dedication, respectfulness, skifullness and resilience.Playing as one unit, they carefully navigated their way through an ever changing gameplay and adjusted accordingly to finally take home the trophy!
Level score a full time was a fair outcome as both sides battled with skill and passion only delivered at this age level! However it was in extra time that separated the two sides with Ravens despite fatigue setting in gave everything they had, racking up the points, scoring 3 goals (scored by Ethan Donnelly, Keith Kinsella & Dylan Kettle) with Aaron Lee's extraordinary goalkeeping skills keeping the Harps from reaching the back of the net!
These players have developed both as players and fine young men who have brought much pride to their management, the club and their parents. No matter the obstacle the team always dig team with a level of maturity, discipline and composure and always playing as one unit and accepting defeat with the same level of dignity as winning.
Much credit must be given to their management Joe Kettle, Mark Farrell, Stephen Maguire, Tommie Duggan for their huge dedication and time and for always believing in these band of brothers and also the managers who played a huge role in the past (Brian Syned, Brian Honan, Maire Manning)
The team and management would also like to thank all the supporters who came out in huge numbers and travelled to Skerries to support these young men on a day they will never forget! We would also like to thank Mike O Dwyer (Ravens club photographer) for capturing this magical day for all involved to look back on!
We must congratulate our opponents for being a great opposition on the day and wish them all the best for next season. They are a very talented, skilful and dignified team and gave our lads a brilliant game of football. Also big thanks to the referee Derek Mc Kitterick and all the match officials on the day for a very fair a fluid game of football.
