Master Juvenile Fixture Calendar for the 2021 Season
I attach the Master Juvenile Fixture Calendar for the 2021 Season covering all age groups from under Eights to under Sixteens. In a typical year, this calendar would have been issued early December 2020 and activity would commence in early February. The Juvenile Fixture Calendar is fundamental to giving certainty to Clubs, Mentors, Players and Parents around the playing of between 26 and 36 match days in an average year.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 health and safety restrictions, we propose to commence CCC2 activity on Saturday, 6th March with the CCC1 programme starting a week later which involves a slight reduction in the overall games programme. I further accept that the season may not commence in early March, but the timeframe outlines what code will be played when we resume. CCC1 & CCC2 reserve the right to amend this calendar should it be deemed necessary including the nature of competition structures if activity is delayed until late Match / early April.
Summary :
U16 competitions in both codes
Single Round League with 10 Teams per Division
Group Round Robin Championship format
U15 competitions in both codes on Sundays as normal
Single Round League with 10 Teams per Division
Féile Group Round format over multiple weekends – 8 teams per Division
As per Croke Park correspondence, all teams will have the opportunity to take part in National Féile tournaments
To reconfirm Féile is permanently moving to the U15 age grade.
U14 competitions in both codes
Double Round League with 8 Teams per Division
U13 competitions in both codes
Grading Leagues followed by a League (single round)
U12 competitions in both codes
Grading Competitions followed by League (single round)
Under 8 to Under 11 Go Games
In line with previous years but no Blitz dates built-in
2020 Juvenile outstanding competitions
In November 2020 we confirmed that all outstanding U12 to U15 competitive competitions would not be completed. In the current environment with a lot of uncertainty, CCC2 has taken no decision regarding the position of the outstanding U16 competitions which are at Semi-Final or Final stages.
Football Grading
CCC2 has already engaged with Clubs for the U13 & U14 Football team entries received for the 2021 Season. Clubs have received an update following the receipt of their U13 & U14 self-grading information. The committee will issue Proposed Gradings for all CCC2 U13, U14, U15 & U16 Football League competitions next Thursday 21st January.
CCC1 will be seeking U12 Football self-grading information next week.
Hurling Entries
Both juvenile committees will be issuing the 2021 Hurling Entry Form next week.
Reminder: Level 5 restrictions are currently in place, and no collective training is permitted even on a non-contact basis.
